Dropping in for a minute...
A minute... that's about all the time I seem to have these days. A minute for this, a minute for that! My minutes are all busy!
I have a backlog of pictures of more chicks - there's a total of 9 hatched out right now, and butterflies and a second bloom on the Voodoo Lily, but no time to sort through them now and put them up here. Soon I need to go out and do evening critter chores, then Farmer and I have to go pick up our truck we let a friend borrow.
This week is the last BIG push on my classes, in that I have not one, not two, alas, not even just three teleseminars this week. No, I already had one advanced training call today, and have three calls tomorrow, and two more on Thursday. Add them up, and that's SIX calls in ONE week! No wonder I can't get anything done!
But that's the last of the scheduled training calls, and after that I can proceed more at my own pace watching videos and doing homework and getting down to "business" work.
So stay tuned, and hopefully I'll soon be able to post more about what I've been up to and what's going on around here on the farm!

Hang in there - it sounds like you're doing GREAT stuff! :-)
Hey RW!
We are just a few days away from the arrival of our keets...things are getting prepared for indoor brooding but I do have a question about the coop we are building. When it comes to the yard...mostly for a chicken yard...how deep do we bury the fence to keep critters out??? I know your time is limited so get to this when you can. No big rush...we are weeks away from having to actually use the coop.
Eve... the answer is... what kind of predators do you have? We don't bury our fence, though we put a board around the bottom, or "earth staples" to keep the bottom edge tight to the ground so it's not easy to go under. Our problem is usually the top of the pens, and raccoons trying to tear a hole in the wire.
Good luck with your guineas!
Thanks RW!
You know the more I think about it the more I think if we don't have chickens do we really need a fence? As long as we make the coop critter proof the guineas are going to roam anyway. I think if we do put up a pen it will be like yours but it wont have a top anyway. So many things to think about!!! They will be shipped out tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes!
